Buckingham, Buckinghamshire
Residential
The Town of Buckingham is centred around its market square. Many of the buildings lining the main streets of the Town are brick or stone Georgian and Victorian but there are also a few timber framed Medieval.
Buckinghamshire has a rich variety of architecture and a wonderful collection of houses ranging from the Classical late 17th Century Stowe House with its Capability Brown landscaped gardens to the 1930s Modernist ‘Sun Houses’ of Aylesbury
The starting point for the layout design came from the early analysis work and in particular how towns and villages in Buckinghamshire have evolved over time. This was either around a grand house such as Waddeston Manor, around a market square, a church or another focal point. The surrounding towns and villages have grown and developed around movement networks and within the gently undulating topography of the county.
